In 1985 Richard Murphy founded DLP Coatings in Elk Grove Village, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.  Initially, the company painted fasteners and other small unique parts.  However, since its inception, DLP Coatings has expanded to become an industry leader offering a wide variety of services in addition to painting.  To support its expanded service offerings, the company added a second location in 2014.  Today DLP Coatings occupies 40,000 square feet and operates daily two shifts with approximately 45 employees.  The company’s products are shipped to clients across North America.  These products support a wide variety of industries, ranging from small appliances to large agricultural equipment.

DLP Coatings follows ISO guidelines and even has an “ISO expert” on staff.  In addition, the company utilizes lean manufacturing principles to help ensure its operations run more efficiently and effectively.  Our commitment to ISO and lean manufacturing has helped DLP Coatings to achieve a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

In 2017 the company officially launched its packaging division.  To support this new division, the company purchased state-of-the-art equipment, which enables it to provide options ranging from poly bags to clam shells and more.  Further company expansion is slated for the near future.

In 2020 DLP Coatings became a woman owned business.  Today Jackie Murphy is the company’s CEO.  Jackie and her team pride themselves on being very involved in the industry.  To stay informed on technological advancements and share best practices, DLP Coatings is an active member of many associations including:

  • WIFI – Women in the Fastener Association
  • SEFA – Southeast Fastener Association
  • SFA – Southwestern Fastener Association
  • MWFA – Mid-West Fastener Association
